How to update the site

The mountain and the riders come straight from your Blender files. No coding needed.

What's here

The main menu shows the 3D mountain with all 15 tracks. Press Play to pick a slope and Ski or Snowboard. The camera flies to the start gate, and Start begins the run: count down, ride, jump, do tricks, and beat your best time. Your skis or board leave dents in the snow. The character customizer has its own page.

Controls

  1. Turn: A / D or ◀ ▶ (phone: left stick). Tuck: W or ▲. Slow down / stop: S or ▼.
  2. Jump: Space, hold it for a bigger jump (phone: JUMP).
  3. Tricks in the air: J grab · K spin · L flip · I style, or the number keys (phone: GRAB · SPIN · FLIP · STYLE). On a rail or box, a trick key switches to a slide.
  4. R restarts, Esc pauses.

After changing something in Blender

  1. Make your changes in SnowCharacters_Main.blend (the riders), SnowAnimations.blend (riding and trick animations), SnowMountain.blend (the mountain) or SnowEffects.blend (snow spray, snowflakes, dent stamps) and save.
  2. Double-click Update Snow Site on your Desktop. Blender doesn't need to be open.
  3. Wait until the window says Done!. Only what changed is re-exported (the characters with all their animations take about 15 minutes, the mountain about 2). The main menu opens in your browser. Press any key to close the window.

If Blender can't export, the button keeps the last working characters and mountain, still updates the site, and tells you what went wrong.

Add a new clothing piece

  1. In Blender, model the piece for both characters.
  2. Name them with the same pattern, for example Male_Scarf and Female_Scarf, and put each one in Clothing_Male / Clothing_Female, parented to the rig with automatic weights (select the piece, then the rig, press Ctrl+P → With Automatic Weights).
  3. Double-click Update Snow Site. The piece appears under Extras as an on/off button.

Want it to get its own button group or colors? Just ask Claude Code to "add a new clothing option to the customizer."

Remove a clothing piece

  1. Delete it from SnowCharacters_Main.blend on both characters and save.
  2. Double-click Update Snow Site. Its buttons disappear on their own.

Rename a track

  1. Open SnowMountain.blend, then click Track_Paths → Track_XX_Path in the Outliner.
  2. In Object Properties → Custom Properties, change track_name or description.
  3. Save, then double-click Update Snow Site.

Change the game's name

  1. Open Documents → SnowGameSite → public, right-click game.js, and choose Open With → TextEdit.
  2. Change window.GAME_NAME = "Snow Game" to your game's name. Keep the quote marks.
  3. Save, then double-click Update Snow Site.

Good to know

Everything on this site is public. Anyone with the link can view the characters and download the 3D files.
You can also just ask Claude Code to "add my new models to the snow game site."
